JOIN US SEPT 11th - 12th for the 2026 FREE THE SNAKE GATHERING at Hell's Gate State Park (Group Shelter #6) in Lewiston, ID. Time: Friday 5:30 - 8:30 PM and Flotilla begins 9 AM Saturday.

This special two-day event will be the biggest rally on the river in years - also featuring on-land activities including inspiring Tribal speakers, special guests, food, live music, a film screening, interactive art and more! Bring your boat and join our paddle or come cheer from shore. No matter your experience level, there’s a place for you.

All are welcome to the Buffalo in Nimíipuu Country summit to learn about the development of the Nimíipuu Buffalo Program, logistics, its benefits, and more! This is also a great opportunity to gain a better understanding of the buffalo's historical and cultural significance on the region and what their return means for the future of the Nimíipuu community.

Call for submissions for Nimíipuu Protecting the Environment’s second annual Indigenous Film Festival  in November, 2026.  Deadline for submissions September 1st, 2026.

This festival is a platform for Indigenous voices and for collaborative storytelling rooted in land, water and responsibility. CARRYING US FORWARD showcases work that explores the relationship between Indigenous peoples and the lands and waters they have stewarded since time immemorial. We welcome films (shorts, feature length and everything in between) by Indigenous creators and films developed in respectful partnership with Indigenous communities that explore treaty rights, First Foods, environmental protection and the intergenerational work of sustaining culture. The Nimíipuu story is not only about the past. It’s about the future we are working to protect. What happens to the land, water, salmon and First Foods affects the future of Nimíipuu People and all people. From treaty rights to river restoration, first foods, cultural continuity and the shared future of this region - these issues shape whether our children and grandchildren can live as Nimíipuu.
